PETA Rose, Almond, & Pistachio Golden Milk

½ tsp green cardamom powder
1 pinch Just Natural Herbs ground black pepper
½ tsp Just Natural Herbs ground ginger (or 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated)
½ tsp Just Natural Herbs ground nutmeg
2 Just Natural Herbs cloves
½ piece Just Natural Herbs cinnamon bark
2 tsp shelled and skinned pistachios
¼ tsp Just Natural Herbs ground turmeric
5 strands saffron
600 ml non-dairy milk of choice
1 tsp rose water
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp coconut palm sugar
1 pinch sea salt
½ tsp Just Natural Organic almonds flaked
1 pinch crumbled, dried rose petals

How to Make it

  1. Using a pestle & mortar, crush together the cardamom, pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, pistachios, and turmeric. Set aside a pinch of this separately.
  2. Add the rest to a heavy-bottomed pan with your chosen non-dairy milk and heat slowly.
  3. Add the saffron, rose water, vanilla, sugar, & salt. Whisk gently.
  4. Let cool and strain into mugs. Top with the flaked almonds, dried rose petals, and that extra pinch of spices. Decadently delicious and – most importantly – dairy-free!
